No not Geoffrey.

1.Tesco extra - confusing layout deliberately created to make you walk all over the place in order that you make impulse purchases that are overpriced even after that Clubcard bollocks.
2.Uber - once they know your travel patterns the price goes up and the service gets worse.
3.Currys - the main priority seems to be selling extended warranties rather than white goods.
4.Fosters and John Smiths - dominates Hartlepool yet you go somewhere else and the choice is much better with many more real ale outlets.
5.Middleton Grange Shopping Centre - 3 more shops closing soon. The place is a dump and needs to be drastically reduced in size. The politicians need to explain how the £13.7 million announced in 2021 for this project is going to be actioned.
6.Civic centre - get them all into the Binns building and demolish. Its falling apart with vastly reduced staff and costing us tax payers a fortune in maintenance.Sshhhhh it is a secret our politicians are keeping from us.

See you all at the Vic on 16th August. :-D

7. Asda - as they never have any Hobgoblin IPA on the shelves

8. Asda - they changed the formula of the porridge pots (50p ones) and it’s like eating a broken IKEA wardrobe

its up to us to play em at the same game but shoppers are too lazy and easily conned but are quick to moan about something they can easily swerve. as for bloody uber don,t moan about prices when they have the monopoly of the taxi services. other alternatives exist.

Airports, now you have to walk through the Duty Free to get to the departure lounges in the majority of airports.
Supermarkets arrange it so you have to walk past the non food products first.
They place their own brand products in the eye leave shelves.
Tesco know what you buy if you use a club card and send out vouchers accordingly.

Since when did making a purchase decision change to being a public declaration of a boycott of whatever it is that you don’t choose?

I like Starbucks Coffee, I don’t like Costa coffee. I don’t feel the need to publicly declare that I’m boycotting Costa because their coffee tastes like shit, I’m not going to create a picket line outside Costa, or to urge others that they must do the same. I’m just going to buy a different brand, and go on about my business.

99% of Bluestreak's posts are tongue in cheek. Of course, he hasn't publicly declared that, but I worked it out for myself a long time ago.

It's a bit like telling everyone you are no longer available to play for your country when you haven't been picked for ages and everyone thinks you're just a bit shit.

But having said that...

9. Them plastic bottles where the cap stays attached and is then stuck up your nostril every time you try to take a swig. I was perfectly capable of removing the cap then replacing it before.

In that case, I am boycotting his posts until he provides a public declaration.

Hartlepool Council. This morning they finally managed to establish roadworks, lane closures and full road closures on EVERY road in and out of the town in addition to internal roadworks eg Marina Way, Catcote Road, Kesteven Rd etc. To say it was like a scene from the Italian Job in some places is no exaggeration.
I appreciate that the 6 week school hols is an appropriate time to undertake such repairs but the current situation is absolutely ridiculous. It's also strange that the AA roadwatch app is only showing 2 or 3 roadworks in and around the town when they must be pushing double figures in reality. I would love to hear the Labour Council leader Mrs Brenda Harrisons views in respect of the current situation but I guess I would have more chance of hearing from Mr D Trump.

I don't mind roadworks IF they're actually working on the roads, however been back in town since Sunday and the majority of the ones I've come across are just cones with NO work taking part whatsoever - which is a complete piss take! refred banghead

Drove past the cones at the Marina today adjacent to Asda, queues as one lane shut with a contractors flat back parked up, 6 guys next to it, one working and 5 stood talking. Drove past in the opposite direction 20 mins later and exactly the same scenario.

The roads are a mess everywhere you drive at the minute. Just this week a 40mph limit (and average speed cameras) has gone up on a stretch of the A66 between Stockton and Darlington. 60mph limit (and now average speed cameras as well) on the A1M between the A688 and A690.

It must be milk the motorist season. A19 next?

I live in Preston and can 100% assure you that it will not be quicker, there can not be a town/City in UK with more roadworks than Preston it can take 1 hour to travel a few miles in this metropolis

think the reason for that is id my info is corre ct that one firm puts the cones and temporary lights up and another does the job. if only they could work in unison it would save the problems we all have, like work finishing mid day and the lights and cones still there over a day after.

it never bothers me if they reduce the speed limit with cameras if really necessary. drivers would be happy if they were only in force at busy periods and not 24 hours a day. its a sodding nightmaer driving down a duel carriageway or motorway during the night thats speed restricted more than the national limit is. same stuck at traffic lights in a town that goes through every phase including the green/red man with only you on the road.
