I remember you thought Lua Lua was better than Charman when he was at the club. Lua Lua was released by Pools at the end of January and hasn't been able to get fixed up since with any club at any level.

Against Leeds I Thought that Charman was one of our better players and showed exactly what he can do.

charman can play a full game lualua was pushed to do 45 mins on a good day and had the knack of doing even less. hope we do not go down that line again as we have had a few has been getting a wage in the last few seasons and did sod all.

Lualua was clearly not fit but at least when he got the ball there was a better than even chance he would retain it and give it to another blue and white shirt…unlike charmans head down and run until you are tackled or run the ball out of play approach

Truth is for different reasons neither gave us what we needed

You won't have it, but you are doing a disservice to Charman. In 26 NL starts last season he scored 4 and made 6 assists. That compares very well with Joe Grey's stats (33 NL starts, 6 goals, 2 assists) never mind Lua Lua!

Of course I'm not saying Charman's all round play is as good as Grey's, but he impacted games at the sharp end of the pitch far more often than you give him credit for.

Out of interest I wonder what LuaLuas stats look like?
Not Charmans biggest fan (wholehearted but as a footballer empty headed imo) either btw. But we've not seen him play as a striker rather than a makeshift wingback / winger. Maybe Grayson can get a tune out of him, although he does like his versatile players so we may see Charman out wide quite a bit.

I believe there is something of a footballer within Charman, hopefully Grayson will be able to tease it out. Lua Lua was a Tardis - ie waste of time and space.

good description of charman. he,s one of those i,d actually like to succeed with us and hang around awhile. like his attitude and you know if he says he is injured he is unlike others in the past where i have had my doubts.

no surprise there. neat and tidy player but never made the difference in games or a real memorable pass.
