Football Governance Bill amandment

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

Football Governance Bill amandment

The Lib Dems have tabled an amendment which would show free to air 20 Premier League matches, the League Cup Final and EFL play off Finals a season.
MP’s bae voted 340 - 86 votes against it and all the votes against were Labour votes…wonder how our MP voted?
Why was it voted down?
It’s what he does….. he’s a terrier.

My problem with this is some people who can’t afford the fees to watch live football haven’t seen it for decades and youngsters are missing out too.
This Lib Dem amendment, which was hardly asking the Earth, seemed a great idea, so why did the Labour Party MP’s apparently vote against it en masse denying it to those who at the bottom of the pile and can’t afford prohibitive costs to buy it in.
Incidentally I don’t like the Lib Dem’s and their stunt man leader, but this time they had a good idea.

Because it's all about a united party showing contempt (yet again) for those the party was founded to protect.
This will inevitably lead to another high cost, toothless, quango with absolutely no benefit to lower league clubs or any fans.

the biggest surprise was it being voted out. honestly cannot think of a real reason why it wasn,t unless it was they never thought of it themselves.

It would be good if C4 or C5 got National league North & South. I think the viewing figures would be good and as the clubs are distributed all over the country you would soon latch onto a local club. (Spennymoor)
