Their Board of Directors has extended their own deadline for putting the club into administration from 4pm to 6pm today.

They're trying to force a sale over the line to get rid of their current owner in favour of the Panjab Warriors 'global sports investment firm' headed up by not one but two Mr. Singhs! (neither is called Raj)

Is it too early to tell Morecambe fans to be careful what they wish for?

Update from Morecambe

The Board of Directors have unanimously agreed to rejoin Morecambe FC and facilitate the sale of Bond Group's shares to Panjab Warriors, which is intended to complete on Monday.
All we can promise is that we will do everything in our powers to make it happen, get wages paid, and begin at last to look forwards.

They have went through some shite to get to this stage, actually quite jealous that their takeover looks like its going ahead, I would love us to be in that position.

Aye our very own Chairman/Owner/Vote Lover resigned then was re-instated by the happy clapper season ticket buyers.
May be thats why he returned to help the sale of the club go through

problem for them is what will there new owners be like. over the last dew years they are getting close to having the same number of owners as we have managers. its shit at pools but its as bad or worse at a real famous football club sheffield wednesday with their ownership problems including transder embargo,s and non payment of players wages. there is always someone worse off than you if you look hard enough.

sctatchinghead There's been nothing quick about it. According to the prospective new owners it has dragged on for 14 months and they have already invested an absolute fortune in the club:

"To date, a sum of £3,800,000 has already been paid to Bond Group, alongside an agreed sum of £630,000 to clear the outstanding loans against Morecambe FC. In addition, over the past 14 months, £1,700,000 has been loaned—interest-free—by the Panjab Warriors team to meet the club’s monthly working capital needs and ensure its ongoing survival.

https://panjabwarriors.com/panjab-warri ... le-delays/

So they reckon they've handed over more than £6 million - for Morecambe!! English football has gone mental with all these foreign investors offering stupid amounts of money.

Pity they didn't want Pools - Raj would have had their hands off for £6 million

Would they not be better off buying Pools?
Or is something putting them off?

Aren't they just moving into a debt trap? £1.7m has been loaned to the club - don't loans need to be repaid at some point otherwise the lender has the power to pull the plug? Even after a takeover they could be no better off than us.

Two teams in a decade with a nickname related to Shrimps have had dodgy owners. Something fishy going on.

Pools were never really up for sale.
