Live on BBC Tees tomorrow morning, you can call and ask him a question, I would like to congratulate him on a new train station at Teesside airport. All we need is a decent train service and more flights from the airport. I would also like him to try and get the St George’s Hotel next to the airport reopened, it’s been closed since 2018.
TBH I can’t see the train being used much, maybe a better way to spend £20 million, I regularly used the Metro from Sunderland to Newcastle Airport and there was only ever a handful of passengers. People can’t be bothered carrying cases/bags on and of trains preferring a taxi or friends or relatives to drop them off.

Lets see a train station then a walk to terminal, or get dropped off just to side of terminal then a two minute walk. Ive used Teeside twice since January, Benidorm and Malaga. Bcos there are only a few flights its great but dont think it can cope with many more flights.
Great staff andeasy thru security, but duty free is small and not many other shops.

Some of the stuff he comes out with is nonsense.
A train station at Teesside park  , a bridge to Redcar  , refusing to get an integrated bus service across the tees valley stpid .
He could seamlessly fit into the Labour Party.

He has been given 1 billion pounds to spend on transport most of it going on feasibility studies like a new A19 flyover which he said would cost nearly a billion pounds to build and a tunnel under the Tees to Redcar. His idea is do all the feasibility studies and when funds become available they can go ahead whenever.
A train station at Teesside Park wouldn’t be a bad idea as you can’t get a direct bus to their from Hartlepool.

The 36 goes into Teesside Park from Hartlepool. It has for a couple of years. All will soon be 100% electric.
He needs to stop talking BIG projects which will never happen in our lifetimes and get a fully integrated transport system across the Tees Valley. Allegedly he is too close the Stagecoach and Aviva.
Northern Rail is the hands of the Operator of Last Resort ie the government and soon to be Nationalised.(yes i know that sounds strange).

We need him to improve our lives now, the big ideas that take many years to come off won't help any of us. I can remember talk of upgrading the A1 at least 40 years ago & it still hasn't happened. It will be the same with these ideas of a tunnel to Redcar & a new A19 flyover, they will never happen!!!
