Finished 3rd and have a home game on Tuesday in the play offs. Be some achievement if they can get promoted and be one league below us.

So if they win their playoff- does that have them in National League North?

If so- can you imagine the Hullabaloo that will ensue when they play the Railway derby against the loids. Guaranteed somebody will score a Rocket- should it be from anywhere outside the 6 yard box!

Might even be scored by our very own Stephenson out on loan for the season too?

Why are they called the Anchors? sctatchinghead

Be better if they were known as the Matchstick Men (and matchstick cats and dogs)!
They could run out to that classic from Brian and Michael - which I believe was number One in the charts this week 47 years ago. (I only know that as it was the week before I was born!)

Stockton might be getting chucked out. Some fuss about fielding a banned player!

Thats true seems the secretary was not clear on the rules, Which are a minefield IF you don,t know what your doing.

These well run clubs always seem to get found out.

I would very much doubt that Stockton will be handed a replay. The rules and subsequent punishment in respect of fielding ineligible players are consistent throughout English football. If it had been a league match then point deductions would be applicable. As it was effectively a cup tie, expulsion will surely follow in order to avoid setting a precedent for similar offences in the future. It is a crying shame as I was looking forward to Stockton turning Darlo over next season.

Decision 2pm tomorrow.
Looks like the FA have passed it on to the Northern Premier League to make a decision.

Almost certain they getting punished.

They may well have passed it on to the NPL, And told them to make the right choice

Being secretary of a football club at any level carries great responsibility, You MUST know the rules insideout.

its all written down somewhere in black and white for everyone to read if they can be bothered. might not be the most exciting task to do and can be a bit of a ball ache but its part of the job.

Decision now delayed to Saturday night.
NPL committie to decide the outcome.

A bit crazy considering the final is on Monday.

I'm going for the final cancelled and Worksop promoted to NLN.

It sounds like backsides are twitching in the face of expensive legal challenges irrespective of which way the decision falls. The rule should be crystal clear but it could be that it isn't. As usual, it is the fans of both clubs that are paying the price for officialdom incompetence.

Maybe they were burgling a bit ov Boros support.

Remember when Colne got to close to Burnley on the pitch.

If it’s over for Stockton, will it have an effect on next season’s performances…?

lot will depend on the personalities who run and play for the club. only good thing is they were not denied promotion only a chance of it and could make em stronger and use it to write a wrong if they are feeling it that way.

A club in upwards progress.
Still got the plastic pitch advantage n decent support so fully expecting anutha Promotion challenge next season.

Today's footballers are mostly shite so it's a great era for rapid progress with the correct ambitions.

Apparently, - according to the Northern Echo anyway, the FA had posted on their site that the player in question (A Nicholson) was indeed available for selection in the playoff game. This was obviously not the case and Stockton are now in the process of apologising to all and sundry.

The rules are a minefield, I'm sure I can recall us getting caught out a number of years ago for a similar offence.

they are actually more complicated than the laws of the land are where players can be illegable for certain games but not for others. if you have a 1st team and a reserve one it gets even more complicated as if you have been selected ffor a certain number of 1st team games and play you cannot appear in a 2nd team ko fixture unless your great grandparent was born south of the wear when there was an R in the month and your father was not a crossdresser.
