Hartlepool is rubbish for a night out these days, I blame late licenceing laws and the wesley shutting. It's just the same cattle market every week, there isn't even a decent influx of yakkers any more.......

I didn't really go to the wesley very often but it did bring people into the town from outside, now it's just all the same faces. The wesley was easilly better than places like Jax and Nexus although 42 was the plae to be.....

friday night I went out, and saw a fantastic band called the Young Republic.
bloody marvellous they were and thoroughly nice people too....

can I just say that the venue the Knights [of St.Columbus] club,Southfield Rd Boro, is fantastic!
An old social club, but the room where they put on the nbands is dead small and full of atmosphere!
really brilliant!
also the promoter...looks a bit like ECG and is almost as enthusiastic! a real pleasure to meet [and play for] a promoter who has a genuine love of the bands he puts on

next Saturday is Euros Childs.
