Something thats been talked about without much action for a few years. Do we want a total ban on it, just forget it and carry on as we are or ban it on a street to street basis with regards to the pavement and road width. I,d go for the latter but knowing councils that would be the least popular optiom.

Isn’t there a law on it already, we don’t have enough personnel to enforce it, when I lived in Bishop cars parked on the grass verges churning them up. In most cases there were allocated parking places but the owners were too lazy to use them and had no pride trying to keep it decent.

Too many cars spoil these once lovely roads and avenues.
Also not many people on estates put their cars in the garage.
They have these big double garages, yet their cars are parked on the pavement/roads cluttering the place up.
Whatever they are storing in their garages, get rid of, it will have been there for years!
And cars are getting bigger and bigger, 4x4 SUV, why?!?!

Because the garages they build won’t even accommodate a medium sized family car, the last new property I had you struggled to get out with out damaging the paint work on the door. I have rented a council garage before, not built for modern day cars.

Same with parking spaces Jamie, there is no room for people open their car doors.

And even if the garages were built to accomodate the bigger cars, the cars would stay outside I reckon.

agree if my road is the norm where apart from myself only one lad uses his garage to put the car in and thats his honda prelude he uses at the weekend. the rest seem to use em as storage space.

you tell me. it isn,t just 4x4 vehicles either that look as if they need to visit weight watchers its cars like astras which have been about for nearly 40 years. would not mind if they were more roomy inside but they are not and a 2024 astra has about the same room inside it than our 1992 one but with more headroom. why is that needed i,ll never know unless top hats are going to make a comeback. doubt it as they do not go with tracky bottoms or jeans with holes in at the day you buy them.
