Craig Mundie is about to take over from Bill Gates as boss of Microsoft. In an interview conducted after the news of the change was announced, he states.

Come on. Seriously. How many people on here believe that?

I'd guess more than 90% of people would believe that. Most people probably don't know alternatives to Microsoft products exists.
As far as I'm aware the internet had nothing to do with Mircrosoft what so ever. As far as computers becoming more and more popular they probably did have a big impact but whats to say someone else wouldn't of if they didn't.

I'm told that Linux is much superior but I don't feel confident enough to start arsing about with it. I suppose most people, at least the feeble brained like me, just stick with what we know. Most people think that Microsoft IS the internet. Maybe when I go and buy me lappy in a few weeks I'll go with Linux.

I don't think anybody actually owns the copyright/patent to the theory/technology/intellectual ownership for networking computers via phone lines (i.e. the Internet). It's something that was universally accepted years ago as the next logical step for computers, to expand the network from a few dozen to millions. It just happened, once pc's were manufactured to be connected to an already existing phone network!!!! Satellites connected the different international networks to each other, and Bob's your uncle!!
Like Mr Head says though, this bloke has tried to get away with claiming that the internet is a Microsoft invention!!!!! Are Microsoft claiming that they installed the phone lines and Satellite systems as well?

You don't have to work hard to bypass microsoft - apple products far out perform gates' stuff. Their machines are iconic, their software and operating systems more elegant and more stable. Why would you want a tower when you can have an apple 'all in one'? And if it's the white that puts you off, silver seems to be the new white for mr Job these days. Go on, gamble - you'll not regret it.

As far as I'm aware there is also no known virus for the mac operating system - how good is that.
