When I was a kid growing up in West Hartlepool people from the Colleries were called Yakkers and underground savages. Is that still the case or is it now frowned upon.

Never heard the "underground savages" expression but people from the collieries were Yackers or Pit Yackers, People from Sunderland were Mackems, folks from Boro were Smoggies and of course inhabititants of Newcastle were Geordies. These were commonly used words and were not intended to be insulting. I presume these days such words have to be expunged and reperations discussed.

nobody is knocking what they did and its a plus to show not all muslims are bad especially at grass roots level. if the catholic church gave free food away it does not mean that some of those higher ups in that church should be forgiven for the wrongdoings of the recent past and others that might have happened but the one doing it has got away with it.

Jesus, "a plus to show not all muslims are bad, especially at grass roots level". Of course not all Muslims are bad - we don't need evidence. There will be the same proportion of "bad" muslims as there are any other race/religion. Try looking at the person rather than the creed.

Absolutely. I dont think anyone should be banned or censored as long as their posts do not break the law and thereby bring trouble to the board. On the other hand, I am not the moderator and if the moderator feels a poster is behaving in an unacceptable fashion, it is entirely within their remit to deal with them as they see fit. After all, they run the site. If Mutley or indeed any other poster is unhappy with the way the site is run they can either discuss it with the moderators via PMs (ie not generalized abuse of everyone who posts on here), find another message board, or accept this place for what it is. I just think that implying everyone who uses this board is racist may not be the best way of bringing about change or indeed endearing ones's self to the majority of users.
