I actually thought its the best interview he's given in a while (standard is low obviously)
Seemed a lot more factual and less trying to big himself up, even when he talked about the abuse he got it's hard to argue with what he said.
I don't think he's the man for the job, but am not going to slag him off for no reason, and I didn't find too much to complain about in that (and I did try!)

Hardly inspirational was it? Sarll looks about as enthusiastic for Saturday’s game as a turkey looking forward to Christmas.

As I say the bar is low--but seemed a lot less self serving bombast---A bit of humility does go a long way--while we arent there yet at least the big I AM seems to have been toned down a bit

You said the fat little dribbling Quasimodo tribute act at work wouldn’t last six months, probably still there now.   and I jumped ship in 2009.

Seems like he's blameing previous shit results on lack of consistency n a new team still gelling.

Which in reality is saying that's my get out clause for trying to make skillful players into rugby n boxers and getting it totally wrong.

I've learned my lesson but bullshitted me way out of it. And the abuse was self inflicted. So we move on.

I'm optimistic that he's in his spin way admitted all the faults he's self inflicted on this talented team.

And we are now going to see proper football because make clear he ain't going anywhere soon probably this season.

Your optimism knows no bounds Kevin, If we won the FACup, I would still dislike him.

"he ain't going anywhere soon probably this season"

Could be right about that, HE has stated WE have 30+ games left, Can you imagine him for the next 30+ games.

Optimism from how shit this division is and our decent squad for this division.
Nothing do do with this clampett manager.

He can be put on ignore mode by players n fans.

Like I keep saying he's done Raj hook line n sinker on his contract interviews.

I class previous promotion employees as Legends.
No way he gets on that list even if we go up.
A weird situation for sure.

UTP.

it can help though if you do not give a toss about the result and you see 4 goals in a game. possibly some chesterfield fans will be unhappy by dropping 2 points late on. must admit i enjoy non pools games more than watching pools nowadays even if we win. still feel we are where we are now for the long haul with or without sarll.

An easier and more likelier answer would be a new manager with even half an idea of how to get the best out of his squad and team.

Maybe he’s been brought in to acclimatise us to this league as our natural home.

FFS- we've only just had the Rink End seats repaired! banghead

At least they are a balanced fan base- with a chip on BOTH shoulders!

They hate us and try and pretend they are our rivals, when we really don't give a fuck- it really is most bizarre.

We only have one rival and that is darLOW - even if it is FIFTEEN years since our swords last crossed- Nothing more coveted than winning AND retaining the Comcast Cup! rolf

Rivals based on what, it helps if you nearish to the club you want to be rivals with.
Gateshead and York are a lot closer and Carlisle are only slightly closer in single figures than Halifax…Carlisle are rivals with everyone as they seem to be as welcome as a loose packet of razor blades in your trousers wherever they go.

big problem with carlise is they haven,t got a natural rival especially before morecambe and barrow got into the league. as snowy said they are rivals with everyone. the annoying part is they are more popular at some clubs than they are with us as they swell the away gates at clubs who rely on away fans to bring some cash in.

the recurring theme in our management woes is always this "hes lost the dressing room" bollix ! why is there always unrest, stuff happening up the tree that seems to make the players play shite ! Its not the whole Raj situation as hes stepped back now and quite frankly given this manager enough cash to get us a decent team together (which it is on paper lets be honest). I hard again the other day that the dressing room is divided - hearing that something else is going on behind the scenes etc... its always the same crap. But i do believe there is something not quite right with this board of directors etc... seems there is again something a miss. We desperately need a CEO and director of football who know what they are doing ! experience at this level and this size of club. Raj does need to do something - new manager and a new COO !

Trouble is, the extra revenue the club makes covers the cost of their visit to the ground in repairs.

no matter how the club are doing there will be some players not in agreement with any manager. usually all dressing rooms are divided to a point like the canteen is at work. they,ll be bigger mates with some players over others but does not mean they do not support em on the pitch in matchdays. far too much is made of all this and it only gets mentioned with defeats or poor performances coming up regularly.

Ok I'll be the first one to say it and call for the immediate return of Tubby Turner as Director of Sport

His brief could include him becoming a modern day Poolies version of Fred Truman off Indoor League - just give him a pint and a vape (proper modern)!
Bar billiards, skittles, darts (obviously Yorkshire board- no trebles) table football, dominos and shove ha'penny - now that would be entertaining! Obviously a huge job, but one his kite would grow into! rolf

Ah See Thee!

Raj does need to do something - new manager and a new COO !

no matter how the club are doing there will be some players not in agreement with any manager. usually all dressing rooms are divided to a point like the canteen is at work. they,ll be bigger mates with some players over others but does not mean they do not support em on the pitch in matchdays. far too much is made of all this and it only gets mentioned with defeats or poor performances coming up regularly.

The correct pronunciation is Ah'll Sithee.

How embarrassing - can only apologise for dropping such a bollock! banghead
In my defence, it was a bit before my time.

Ouch!

the recurring theme in our management woes is always this "hes lost the dressing room" bollix ! why is there always unrest, stuff happening up the tree that seems to make the players play shite ! Its not the whole Raj situation as hes stepped back now and quite frankly given this manager enough cash to get us a decent team together (which it is on paper lets be honest). No problem mate, I didn't see anything wrong with it and knew you were taking the piss. Mr G is a sensitive soul. Bless him.
I worked in Sheffield some time ago and was given a parchment with Sheffield speak on it which one of the staff had produced. The first line was "Ah'll Sithee". I use it myself now.
I've lost the bloody thing unfortunately.
Another was "Shintin" which translated was "My Mother is not available."
I was there when Sheff Utd were relegated to our league and responded with a map of the route to Clarence Road.

It'a South Yorkshire thing Accy. You hear it more in the Sheffield area.

Here's a question for you. Where in Yorkshire would you hear the phrase "yan of each" and what does it mean.

It does mean one of each but refers to ordering fish and chips in parts of North Yorkshire like Malton. They walk into the fish shop, say yan of each and get served with a fish and a portion of chips.
