I see the game as a win-win for Pools. Beat Brackley and we are only one game away from the dream of a 1st Round tie, which, knowing Pools luck, will be away to Wycombe Wanderers.

Lose on Saturday and we can concentrate on the league- with a new manager and a chance of getting back into play-off contention.

It's a tough call, but I think I know which outcome I'd be happiest with.

the only dream ties in round 1 and 2 are winnable games to bring more sponsorship money into the club. even birmingham away would be played at a half empty st.andrews with cheap admission to bribe fans to attend. when the fa cup is mentioned nowadays the club accountant is the one with the biggest interest in it.

If we get through the rounds and get Man Utd or Newcastle at home we need to tear up the pitch a week before and get the F.A. to switch it to away game.

Sorry to disappoint you
.
But after joining the board last week.
I found out Sarly is on a 8 year contract and a free petrol Ford Capri.

Suffice to say I was disappointed and forthwith handed in a verbal resignation to Raj.

Good news though I'm back on the Bunker n can talk shite 6 days a week.

True. Most likely we scrape through 1-0 and Sarll hangs on but it is evident the team is not playing well and everyone on here posts to say how terrible it is and they cant understand why Sarll hasnt been sacked (rightly so).

The old farts better up and buy tickets as the Mill House Seating area not sure about the terracing is closed, I asked the fella in the ticket office why but he had no idea why.

I asked the lad in the ticket office why, he said in his opinion Pools don’t expect a big crowd and opening the Mill House would not justify the costs for security.
The Rink End should be open for Pools fans and the few Brackley fans could be accommodated in the Cyril Knowles stand. Surely they can’t justify opening the Rink End for a handful of Brackley fans ?
Pools have shot themselves in the foot again, penny pinching, where are the fans from the N.E. corner going to go ?

I'm hugely disappointed that I've got this far down the thread, given the title 'The Magic of the Cup' and NO ONE has mentioned that-

1- The form book will be thrown out of the window
2- The pitch/ weather will be a great leveller
3- The Butcher, Baker and Candlestick Maker
4- The brave opposition
5- Their Cup Final
6- Giant killing
7- Real banana skin
8- Ronnie Radford and Hereford
9- Being in the hat, for the 1st round PROPER
10- Meeting the big boys in the 3rd round
11- The number of league places between the clubs
12- Motty in his sheepskin, getting snowed on

And that's just for starters!: banghead :angry-tappingfoot: bbolt

It is a strange one because my son and his girlfriend have purchased 2 tickets for the Townend sctatchinghead Pools have started doing this crap from last season and it puts people off going. How dare they say you cannot go into this stand or that stand. It is penny pinching and its extremely embarrassing. I reckon most supporters have a regular spot to enjoy the game and are now their being told " unlucky " move. Totally disrespectful to our supporters the very people who keep the club going year after year and have done since 1908 Raj. Who are these " professional " big salary people you keep on employing Raj sctatchinghead No wonder most can see it's more like comedy central than a professional football club. banghead

Personally a shocking penny pinching decision, I hope the sun isn’t shining because I am sitting in the Cyrl Knowles stand where you can get blinded by the sun. What message is it sending to the fans, it’s not encouraging fans to turn up either by closing part of the ground.

just gives fans another reason to swerve the game. even those who stand like to stand in their spot in their prefered part of the ground. the brackley 7, thats the number they brought up to stockport, could easily be accomodated and we,ll still be getting a bigger crowd for this than many games in the 70,s where fans could go where they wished.
